Introduction

Welcome to the Toronto Soaring Club (TSC) Ontario Provincial Soaring Contest web site, co-hosted by Toronto Soaring Club and Great Lakes Gliding Club. We had so much fun last year (2007 Provincial Soaring Pages) we agreed do it again this year.

The Provincials are a great opportunity for experienced contest pilots to be challenged and new cross-country pilots to get experience in a relaxed, fun environment.

The contest will reunite the racing family and introduce fledgling race pilots and their crews into the fold. We plan to run two classes: 1) Club for those wishing to push their skills and gliders (handicapped); and 2) Novice, to introduce pilots to new competition flying or with classic performance gliders (also handicapped).

TSC provides an excellent flying site and offers pilots with diverse thermal flying conditions, from the highlands, opening to the South and West, through the escarpment and into the Nottawasaga lowlands to the East.

DIRECTIONS: We are located 24km west of Shelburne, 1 concession north of Highway 89. From Highway 89 and Southgate Side Road 15 travel north then take the first gravel road West. Our gate is on the south side of Southgate Road 04 about 0.5 km West of Southgate Side Road 15
